Description of Calendars

  • Master Calendar - Lists all dates related to each calendar on one calendar
  • UNO Events - Lists all student sponosored, departmental sponosored and community events related to or for the UNO community
  • Athletic Events - Lists all events for the UNO Privateers athletic teams and dates for clinics and other athletic department events
  • Academic Dates - Lists all academic deadlines including registration fee payment dates
  • Alumni Events - Lists all events specific to UNO Alumni including chapter meetings and other gatherings

Adding Events

  • Calendar managers have rights to their specific calendar and may use their best judgment to deny approval of an event.
  • Only athletic events are to added to the Athletic calendar.
  • All events are automatically added to the Master Calendar.
  • Event Titles
    • Please try to use short event titles. You may be more descriptive in the Event Description.
    • Use quotations for titles of books, plays or other original works. Do not use italics.
    • Try to use prefixes for events to describe its contents such as “Workshop: Relaxation Techniques”.
  • Event Description
    • DO NOT WRITE IN ALL CAPS. IT IS HARD TO READ.
    • Please write in complete sentences and include the who, what, where, why, when and how. However, DO NOT use “who”, “what”, “where”, “why”, “when” and “how” to begin your sentences.
    • Leave "Wrapped" selected. Do not select "Pre-formatted."
    • If there are fees for admission, please include. Also include all necessary contact information and phone numbers.
    • Phone numbers should use the area code and prefix. Ex. 504-280-6000.
    • Email addresses should use lowercase letters only (user@uno.edu)
  • Location
    • Use the proper name of the building and its abbreviation when referencing locations. For example, University Center (UC) Flambeau Room.
    • When referencing a building name and room number, please include the “Rm” abbreviation. For example. University Center (UC) Rm. 242
  • Web Address
    • Use the shortest link possible (make sure there is event information is on the webpage)
    • Don’t forget to add Contact Person and Contact Email when adding event. Add the actual contact person who can answer questions about the event.
